Tailored Clothing
We are most excited to offer our unique approach to tailoring. Our intention is to revive the lost art of tailoring so women can once again experience the deep satisfaction of having something fit "just right."
What Tailoring Can and Cannot Do
If you are like most women, having a garment fit perfectly, right off the rack, is a rare moment. Prior to the industrial revolution women had their clothes made by a family member, a local tailor, or they sewed for themselves. In each case, the special issues and challenges of matching clothing to unique personality and body type were well known. When factory-made clothing came along, women switched from having the clothes fit the body to having the body fit the clothes. Instead of having jeans made to fit, we "squeeze into them." Or, we pad our bras to fill the blouse instead of having the blouse made to our dimensions. Women of all sizes and shapes have issues with ready-made clothing. Even models with their long legs and extreme hourglass curves often can't find the right fit. Ready-made's attempt to assembly-line fit just doesn't cut it for many of us.Our teenagers quickly "learn" there is something wrong with their bodies, when their clothes don't fit right. "I'm too tall, because no pants ever fit." "I'm too fat because my shirts always pull at the bust." Then, when someone in their group of girlfriends can regularly wear off-the-rack garments and have them fit, this only serves as "evidence" that their own bodies are wrong.
The flip side of this scenario (and the reason tailoring has lost favor) is that, like plastic surgery or other "fixes" women sometimes have unreasonable expectations about what tailored clothing can do for them. Yes, it feels lovely. Yes, it saves time. But, no, tailoring isn't going to add five inches to your length or take ten away from your waist. Rather, it's about being the best "You" that "You" can be in comfort and style.
How can this save me money?
Of course; if you only look at off-the-rack prices compared to ours, you might beg to differ. Our savings comes in two forms:
First, you will save time in the long run. Time is not money; it's more valuable than money. Time savings won't be immediate, because you will first visit with an Ajeeta rep for a thorough interview enabling us to confirm your goals with tailored clothing and eliminate any unrealistic expectations about what tailored clothing will do for you. This increases our precision in matching what you want with what we can deliver. Also, at first, you can expect many fitting issues to arise at the final fitting stage. The more we work with you, the better we know what's true for you, then the faster this process becomes.
Second, you can expect that the clothes made just for you
won't end up as frequently in the "hardly ever worn"
category. If you're like most women, shopping looks something
like this. You browse & try things on for a couple
hours before you commit to anything. Most of what you try on
isn't quite right; either it's too expensive, the fit is off, the
colors aren't ideal, or the style isn't exactly what you
want. Nonetheless, after investing a couple hours of precious
time, you may be tempted in the end to buy a garment or two that isn't
quite right, just so you don't go home empty-handed. Another
scenario is that you pump up on caffeine before shopping or feel high
on life, or whatever your trigger for wearing rose-colored glasses, but
when you get home and try it on again two days later, you wonder what
you were thinking.
Our tailoring program requires you to make smart choices about
clothing purchases. That alone can save 50% on clothing
budget over the long haul. We do this through our Just
for Me TM
intake consultation, which is a stand-alone private coaching
opportunity as well as a requirement of participating in our tailored
clothing line. A small time in consultation up front will
yield higher satisfaction with the end products.
